Community groups and residents came together for a Christmas celebration in Newmarket-on-Fergus, County Clare with a ceremonial lighting of the trees with lots of fun and entertainment supplied by the Newmarket Brass Band and the local school choir from Scoil na Maighdine Mhuire.
The festive display was courtesy of a collaborative effort between the RISE Global Foundation, in conjunction with community development organisation, Obair, Dromoland Castle and Newmarket Community Center.
David McCourt, who is the founder of RISE, commented: “This year’s festive display is a real testament to the community spirit that unites Newmarket. The collaborative support of our local community groups, businesses and residents has not only meant that we’ve been able to increase the ambition of our Christmas display, but it’s also made it much more fun and rewarding for the village.”
