Incorporated in both Dublin and London, Catalyst Media Group owns and operates a range of media assets including, Business & Finance Media. Business & Finance was launched in 1964 and acquired by Ian Hyland in 2002. Today Business & Finance operates in the multimedia, digital, print and engagement platforms, with its main focus on Dublin, London, New York and Washington DC. Business & Finance also hosts The Principals Club, and the annual Business & Finance Awards and Scholarship Programme (est. 1974)
Ian is President of Ireland INC, a global business platform established in 2010, promoting Irish business Interests across the United States. Ireland INC operates a range of engagement platforms in Washington DC and New York. Having created the Ireland Day Business Forum at the New York Stock Exchange – Ireland Day is the only international country day hosted by the NYSE.
Ian is a partner at Principal Strategies which is an engagement-focused consultancy leveraging human capital and positioning of international CEOs, business owners, C-level executives and stakeholders while assisting in positioning of corporate brands in key international markets.
Ian serves on the UCD Smurfit Business School Advisory Board, he has served as a Director of the Haiti charity, The Haven Partnership (New York). He chaired the Haiti Week programme launched by President Clinton for ten years. The Haven Foundation raised over $30m for causes across Haiti. Ian served as a member of the founding advisory board at Self Help Africa (New York) and as a Director of the African focused technology- and education foundation Camara.
