have already received over €20,000 in prior grant funding
do not anticipate a turnover of €100,000 in the 2 years post receipt of grant
employ no more than 5 people

By using these criteria, the RISE Community Innovation Fund can effectively identify and support projects that have the greatest potential to advance technology in the agricultural sector and create meaningful, lasting impact.

Questions

1. Innovation/Impact/Scalabilty (15%) *

Innovation: The project should demonstrate a novel approach or solution in agricultural technology. Impact: The potential impact on the agricultural sector, including increased efficiency, productivity, and sustainability, should be significant. Scalability: The solution should have the potential to be scaled or replicated in other regions or contexts.

2. Community Collaboration and Partnerships (15%) *

Community Engagement: Demonstrated engagement with the local agricultural community and end-users is crucial. Partnerships: The involvement of relevant community stakeholders can strengthen the proposal.

3. Technical Feasibility (10%) *

Technical Soundness: The proposal should be based on sound technical principles and demonstrate a clear understanding of the technology being used. Implementation Plan: A detailed plan outlining the steps for development and deployment of the technology should be provided.

4. Relevance to Agricultural Challenges (10%) *

Problem Addressed: The project should address a specific, well-defined problem or challenge in the agricultural sector. Target Audience: The intended beneficiaries (e.g., smallholder farmers, agribusinesses) should be clearly identified.

5. Sustainability and Long-Term Viability (10%) *

Environmental Impact: The project should promote sustainable practices and have a minimal negative impact on the environment. Economic Viability: The solution should have a clear business model or plan for financial sustainability beyond the grant period.

6. Team/Individual Qualifications (10%) *

Expertise: The team/individual should have the necessary expertise and experience in both agriculture and technology. Track Record: Prior success in similar projects or relevant academic and professional achievements should be highlighted.

7. Financial Need (10%) *

Budget Justification: A detailed budget outlining how the grant funds will be used should be provided. Financial Need: Evidence of financial need and the inability to fund the project through other means should be demonstrated.

8. Social Impact (10%) *

Inclusivity: The project should promote inclusivity, particularly in supporting underrepresented groups such as women and minority farmers. Community Benefits: The potential social benefits, such as improved livelihoods and job creation, should be clear.

9. Monitoring and Evaluation (10%) *

Metrics for Success: Clearly defined metrics and milestones for measuring the project's success and impact. Evaluation Plan: A robust plan for monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes.
